-Australia

Australia is the smallest continent in the world. It is 
7 million km² large, that is twent-two times so big like germany.
The inhabitants of Australia call theire land "down-under" 
and theirself "Aussies". Australian is between the Indian and 
Pacific Ocean. Here, in the land down-under live only 18 million 
people, and the most of them live at the east coast. From 
the 18 million people are 300.000 Aborigines. The capital 
of Australia is Canberra, a small city with only 308.00 people.
Australia consists of 7 states, Northerm Territory, Western Australia, 
Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and 
Tasmania



-Surfing

Aussies are really good surfers. They learn to surf very 
early, because the most People in Australie live at the 
coast. There are really high waves, they are until 3 m 
high and it is a big pleasure to surf on them. But surfing 
is so dangerous, some surfers risk there life to ride the 
waves.
On the east side of Australien is even a city which 
is calles "Surfers paradise", but there live not more than 
100000 people.


- Outback/Never-Never-Land
Not really many inhabitants live in the Outback, because 
it is so hot there. The outback is in the middle of Australia.
You will find there people who work on sheep or cattle stations. 
In the Outbacks are parts, where no one live. This parts are 
called as the "never-never-land".



-Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the only one in the world. It is a big 
Reef, which grow in million of years. It is on the east coast of 
Australia and mor then 2500 km long. On the Reef are hundreds of 
tropical islands. Between the islands is it like in a Labyrinth.



-Dingo-Fence

The Dingo-fence is a long fence - the longest fence in the world. 
The fence is 500 km long and was made to keep the dangerous Dingos 
in the outback. The Dingos kill thousand of sheep every year, thats 
the reason why famers hate them.



-animals

In the land down-under live very many animals. Some are sweet and nice, but there are 
also many dangerous animals. The most famous animals in Australia are the Kangaroos or 
koala bears. They aren't dangerous, like snakes. In Australia are nine of ten from the 
most dangerous types of Snakes. On other dangerous animal are the sharks. Eleven People 
were killed by sharks from  1980 to 1990. Corocodiles live in Australia, too.
